![]() I LOVE this picture of Baby “A”, Bob and me. A few minutes later we crashed her dad’s birthday BBQ. Gretchen gave us directions to her parents’ house. She was at her parents’ house, which is in Ridgway as well. Gretchen answered my call, AND she was in Ridgway. Parked on South Broad Street in Ridgway, PAĪs I do whenever we pass through Ridgway and have no time constraints, I telephoned a friend who lives in Ridgway. We parked on South Broad Street, beside the courthouse. We departed home at 9:30 am, en route Benezette PA. ![]() 3 Comments December 22, 2021īob and I went for a motorcycle ride on Saturday, June 25. We ate leftover ham steak, individual size pizzas and pudding. I did not write down the location where we saw these elk.įrom The Cross we returned to ”Creekside Cabin”. We did see a few elk this morning at a couple other places, but not nearly as many as we saw the previous two days. As I wrote earlier, elk are not predictable. We didn’t see any elk at the Elk Country Visitor Center or at the Winslow Hill viewing area. There wasn’t any elk at either the Benezette Store campground or at the field past the Benezette Store. There were no elk at the Mt Zion Historical Park. We looked for elk at places where we had seen elk the previous day and on Saturday afternoon. Elk are not predictable!īefore leaving the area, we went for a drive to Benezette. We didn’t see any elk at the Airbnb during our stay, as we had hoped. On December 20 we drove home, leaving from Weedville around 8:00 am, after eating our oatmeal breakfast at the Airbnb. If you missed Days 1 and 2, you may catch up by clicking here. I guess we will have to become familiar with the VRBO platform to make a return stay here!īefore dinner, we sat outside on the front porch. As most of her renters come to her via VRBO, she elected to leave the Airbnb platform. Management of those rentals on both platforms has become too much for her. She has listed her rentals (she has four) on both the Airbnb and VRBO platforms. Our host is leaving that platform in favor of VRBO. There is an occupant in the bottom rental however, you wouldn’t know it was occupied except for the fact a car was parked at the entrance to that apartment. One bedroom has a queen bed the other two bedrooms contain full size beds. Through the living room are three bedrooms and a bathroom. As you come in the front door, you enter the dining room. ![]() There are two porches, a covered porch at the front of the house and an uncovered porch at the side of the house. Our host said that we could check in anytime after 12:00 noon, if desired. We checked in at our rental Airbnb/VRBO around 12:15 pm. We have passed by this park many times on our way to The Cross on the Hill but didn’t stop, until today.Īccording to a Visit Pennsylvania article “The park began in 2006 with a monument to the church…” Zion Church–the first Protestant church in Elk County. Our third stop was at Mt Zion Historic Park, the site of the former Mt. We went to Walmart and picked up the few groceries that we would need for our three night stay. The bakery goods were enticing, but we didn’t add any baked goods to our breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and filling the service was good. We both ordered eggs, home fries, toast and bacon. We spent three nights in a rental Airbnb/VRBO along Route 255 in Byrnedale. We didn’t to the cabin, but we stayed nearby. Tuesday, June 20th, we went to the “the mountains”, as Dad would say when he went to his cabin near Weedville PA. The steaks were accompanied by fried potatoes with onions, cauliflower and broccoli, and applesauce. Bob grilled two marinated Delmonico steaks.
